I love this bag! I bought my first one through the original Kickstarter campaign back in 2020. I have since bought several mounts and use it on all my bikes. Often, I say I would buy again, but in this case, I put my money were my mouth is and actually bought it again. The original bad was recently stolen, and I was devastated. So I just had to get a new one! The new has a slightly different plastic lid, but otherwise looks and feels exactly like the original one.

The bag was easy to attach using the mount I chose and works well on my gravel bike. Holds my spare bits, pump, phone, a top and thin jacket.

This front handlebar bag is a perfect fit for my Vintage bike! The separate items sold for it seems versatile for various models.
I like the hardtop with mounting adapters for the various electronic gadgets.
( I was disappointed in not receiving the separate TECH ADAPTER- for my Garmin.
However, the quick responses from your customer support was awesome. I had to order a similar 3rd party Garmin adapter from another source… but it did fit the Bar Fly ring.)
Good design and I’m glad to have a practical and quick release product.

Bag works great. Got stuck in a rain storm. Everything stayed dry.

Just the perfect size that I need!

Very pleased with the original handlebar bag I ordered. It has a lot of space - I typically take longer rides in my rural area and I’m alone so I do carry more stuff than some may typically like to carry . Even with that- there is extra space! It is easy to access and does not flop around when riding if installed securely!

Bought this bag to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is a great size and the solid top holds my Garmin, action cam, and phone. It is easy to access and has made the trip so much easier.

I've been looking at this bag for two years and listening to the rave reviews of my cyclist friends who have it. I finally purchased it and am thrilled. I love how easy it is to attach, how easy it is to open and how easy it is to access my supplies. And being able to mount my computer on the top of the bag is the best.
Also, customer service responded promptly to my questions and was very helpful.

I actually have the bigger version. I took it on the 330 mile Pittsburgh to DC bike tour on the great Allegheny passage. The bag was the perfect setup for my gravel bike. My favorite feature was the easy quick release to remove the bag but it also mounted my phone, bike light and Garmin making my cockpit functional and neat. Let's not forget to mention the ample storage for batteries, tools, snacks, sunglasses etc. You will not be disappointed!

We have both the Big Bag and the Original. The Original fits my wife’s gravel bike perfectly, allowing plenty of room for her hands on the bars and her makeup kit in the bag. The modular build of the bag is a tremendous feature. On ride #2 with the bag a tree interfered with my wife’s passage; the bag (and her arm) absorbed most of the impact and saved her bike. I was able to take the lid off her bag and reshape the frame and make it good as new while she bandage her arm. We had an otherwise spectacular ride.

Absolutely great bag. We now have mounts on each of our two bikes, so just swap depending on what ride we’re going to do. It’s big enough for all my tools and essentials. The tech mounts now have my safety camera and front light, which is so much easier and frees up the bar.

This is my second review of the same bag- all the same. I purchased one for myself last year and wanted to get one for my wife for Xmas but, out of stock… so when they became available I pulled the trigger despite the shipping charges because honestly, having sold and used many different front bags over the last 30 years route werks works! Solid and accessible right out front where you need it to be. And a big shout out to Hattie at cycling cameras and coffee on YouTube, she and Tom both had them and I liked the design and set up. Thoughtful and purposeful design with convenient functionality! Thanks again Thor you folks make nice front bike bag!

Absolutely brilliant
This bag is well thought out and beautifully made, the clamp is simple genius, leaves the bar clear and neat, when riding there are no rattles and it stays put,on and off road
Construction is 1st class and the accessory mounts are spot on
My only issue is I waited too long to buy one and wasted a lot of money on sub par bags
If you're thinking about buying one, dont think for too long, you won't be disappointed

I just rode my bike for 4 days - 285 miles from Athens to Savannah, Ga (USA) on gravel roads. Everyone wanted this bag! It was soooo easy to use. I ended up using the elastic ropes on the top of the bag super often because I needed to tuck my glove somewhere when taking it off to take photos. I can't say enough about this bag. THANK YOU for inventing this!

Great on bike storage choice.

I purchased the handlebar bag after seeing it on someone's bike during LEL (London Edinburgh London) 2025. Its really useful and allows me to keep everything I used to carry in my jersey pockets in the handlebar bag. This is much more convienient to find the right snacks without having to blindly feel for it expecially when wearing a gilet or jacket over my jersey. It also prevents sweat from building up against the items in my pockets.
I have not really noticed any detriment to handling from the weight. Although like my review of the outfront mount, it would be nice if the weight of the mounting system can be improved.
In other reviews rattling of the lid does exist, however I found the noise wasn't from the lid itself but from the slight play between the hinge blocks and the hinge pin. Disassembly of the hinge and an application of some light grease prior to reassembly fixed this. This could be something the factory could add as a step or reduce the hole tolerance of the hinge blocks.
One other addition that would be nice would be somewhere to mount an action mount centre of the bag to allow my Magicshine light to be mounted more central to the bike. At the moment I have to choose either the bag or my outfront mount with light. It would be nice to have both.

Great bag! Super stable, easy to open and close while riding.

Keeping all the important stuff out front …where it belongs! Yes you can use that! Thanks for the great Bag - I’ll be getting the wife one for Christmas.

This is one of the best cycling accessories I've ever gotten! It's absolutely worth the investment. It's clear the team put tons of effort into making this as durable and practical as possible. Overall, it's a great piece of design. I'm glad I finally pulled the trigger!

perfect sized bag, I'll be ordering the side bar to attach a light as well.
Kevin H.5/5Verified
Initial impressions: Bag is rock solid. Once mounted I had zero rattle noise. There is a screw that can be adjusted to make the clasping mechanism tighter.
I will probably remove the Handlebar Stubs. I purchased a Ravemen FR500 bike light that can be mounted to the top of the bag and then my Garmin top of the light. My bike is on the smaller size, and you can see that there isn't a lot of space on either side of the Stubs. I can still ride with them attached but will want more room on longer rides.
I love the interior and exterior pockets. Great for organizing. The top under the hood pocket is perfect for electrolyte packets. The top opens easily when riding and feels secure when closed.
I do plan on utilizing some water proofing/hydrophobic spray for the exterior to provide added water protection.
Mounting was super easy. My handlebar is marked with the size so determining the Bike Mount size was easy.
The only thing I'd change is I'd make the screws used to hold the Bike Mount in place a more common size. I'm pretty sure those screws are the only ones of that size on my bike. Using the same screws as bottle cage mounts for example would make replacement, if needed, easier.

The entire Route Werks experience is excellent--from the website, to the shipping, to the handlebar bag performance on dirt and asphalt rides.

Sturdy, perfect for riding all day or just around the block. Very well made bag with great details like the integrated out front mount on the lid. The best part is that it is so easy to get in and out of while riding!
Nicholas S.5/5Verified
I know Route Werks doesn't recommend the handlebar bag on a bike with any sort of suspension. But it was a risk I was willing to take and it has been paying off so far. The quality is phenomenal and the ease of use is great. I highly recommend Route Werks stuff. Over engineered and it is definitely appreciated.

I just did a 700 mile bikepacking trip with my routewerks handlebar bag - Harrisonburg VA to Newport RI. I added the quad lock tech mount and the handlebar stub for my front light. I biked on gravel, pavement, cobblestone, sand, singletrack and more. Through 100 degree heat, rain, and wind, the handlebar bag was exactly what I needed. I kept a DJI Action Cam, snacks, batteries, toilet paper, and bike tools in my bag. Can't recommend this enough. Every part of the design is so well thought through and executed. I loved being able to open my bag with ease while cruising at 20 mph. Can't recommend this enough!

Took it in on Ragbrai! Resulted in a week of having everything at my fingertips! This bag allowed me to be super organized and double my carry-ons this year making the week long ride much more enjoyable! Went through a strong rain storm and all stayed dry for the most part. I’m not sure any other bag would have held up to that rain, so i was satisfied. The attachment/latch system made it super easy to load and unload daily, but reviews were right there is a slight rattle. I mounted Quad Lock for my phone on bag lid and phone stayed securely attached hitting multiple rumble strips, potholes and even during the 40+mph reached on the last decent! Thank you for all the thought that went into the design of this bag. It truly is a game changer!

This bag is insanely well built, and every last detail was thought of! It’s the perfect size on my bike and super easy to carry around with my valuables in it when I get off the bike . I am a bit of a self proclaimed bag geek and sincerely give this thing two thumbs up. Looking forward to seeing what other products are out there from this team in the future!!

Questions fréquemment posées
The short answer is no. Our bags are made of durable, water-repellent materials to protect your essentials. However, these bags are sewn goods, which keeps us from saying they’re completely waterproof. We recommend using a small dry bag if you are taking something that cannot get wet.
Such use will typically damage the Handlebar Stub's anti-rotation feature. We do not recommend using such a setup and any usage of this type will void the warranty.
In most of our testing, we found that the narrowest drop bar that will accommodate a Handlebar Stub is a 38cm bar. This can vary based on bike setup, preferred hand position, accessory size, plus numerous other factors.
